What does "professional passenger's transportation" mean ?



Any transportation of person for which a remuneration is demanded with the objective of gaining financial benefit is consdered professional.



You, as a client, can determine the value of the company you work with by asking the following questions :


Is the company officially registered in Geneva ?

In case of strife, it is important that the company has an official address in Geneva.


Does the company have a VAT number ?

Some unfair companies will charge you the VAT, whilst not paying it !


Are the vehicles equipped and insured for professional transportation ?

This guarantees the vehicle is properly insured, passes a technical control every year, and the professional taxes are paid.


Does the chauffeur have a professional driving licence (Swiss driving licence B code 121 and/or D1 code 106) ?

To obtain a professional driving licence, the driver must have no criminal record. He has to pass an exam on working tme legislation and is subject to a medical check-up every five years.


Does a foreing driver has a valid working permit and a professional driving licence ?

Any non Swiss chauffeur needs to be in possession of a legal working permit and a swiss driving licence.


Is the compagny alowed to run over 9 seaters vehicles ?

According to Swiss legislation, operative since January 2004, the company needs the Federal Transportation Licence to run minibuses of more than 9 seats for professional use.
